Poof...I wont be blind anymore!

It's official...I'm getting Lasiks done on Friday at 10:20 a.m. I am sooooo excited to not wear glasses. I went to my first appointment today, I have to go again on wednesday and then get the surgery on friday. I have been longing for this day since the opthamologist told me I needed to stop wearing my contacts because they were scaring my eyes. And also I get new sunglasses that should cost $150, I get to choose from a variety many of which are bebe or vogue. yay for me. The only slightly bad part is that I can't wear make-up for at least two weeks ( I don't wear make-up very often) and its the christmas/new years time frame. This shouldn't really affect to much but i usaully like to get all dressed up and take pictures, but i suppose just getting my hair all curly and dressing cute will have to do...

the weekend

this last weekend was a pretty good one...except i pretty much forgot to take pictures! the picture above is pretty much the only picture we took and it isn't exactly the greatest! jesse came to visit and we went and explored las cruces a little bit more than normal. we went farther than just the mall and everyday places. we tried out restaurants we hadn't been to before. walked around the old historic mesilla town square and drove around and looked at all the amazing houses in the area. i kept him in town a few hours later than he was planning on staying... but in my defense when he left it meant that i just had to hangout by myself without any entertainment from him and no one to lay around and cuddle with!
now i just have to wait for this week to end and i am outta here for christmas break. i have four finals this week, i took two last week. i am so excited for this semester to be over. this weekend i am going out to california and i have plans to get lasiks done on my eyes next week! I can't wait!

Is this not the best looking piece of cake you've ever seen? I am soooo late to post this but I just got the pictures on my computer and didn't want to tell about it without the pictures. About a month ago or so one of my teachers suggested that we meet somewhere outside of the classroom, so we went to this italian restaurant, it was soooo good. I got fettuccine alfredo and their sauce was to die for. Then, as everyone was finishing up she tells us that she's taking care of the bill but to leave a really good tip. Since she was paying for the bill I decided I would get dessert to go. I got this amazing chocolate italian cream cake (7 layers), I was so impressed by it that I took pictures.

I just have to say that I have a pretty cool teacher.... none of the others have ever done anything like this!

Last day of school

I can't wait for tomorrow to be over... at least the school part of it. Why you ask? Because then I have a week off from school, which really makes me love thanksgiving! This week started off good...great even, Jesse got a massage therapist to come to his apartment and give me a massage on Monday evening (he is sooo sweet)! Then, Tuesday had to come along; I had to get up early and drive home to Las Cruces, hurry up and change into "professional" clothes so that I could present an hour long presentation at the end of the day. Getting everything ready for this presentation has been hell, there is no other word for it. There were four of us in the group, however essentially two of us did close to all the work for it. I am really perturbed with one lady in the group, she is in her 50s, can't show up any less than 30 minutes late for any group meeting even when we're coming directly from the classroom to the lab, and likes to tell people she has problems with ADD but she can't get it diagnosed (she totally uses this as a crutch). So anyway, when she finally does show up she has up stop to tell her what we're working on, stays there for a couple of minutes and disappears for a while after which she comes back and has us stop working again to bring her up to speed, then she goes on to start a conversation completely off subject and rambles for at least 10 minutes straight after which I have to interject and say "we need to focus on our project". The other two girls are way to nice and feel bad about stopping her or intrupting while she is in mid sentence but I don't because she is a pain in my big fat booty! BTW, my interjection always makes the other two girls laugh under their breath or turn their heads and laugh.
So after a long day of classes and working on getting ready to present in pretty much every spare moment it came time for the actual presenting. As we go to present the 50+ year old has ther nerve to say "since you guys did everything esle, I'll do most of the talking" as though she was going to do her part by talking about stuff she knew nothing about because she hadn't hellped with it. What's even worse is the fact that everytime one of the people who actually did work on it stated to say something she would but in and start trying to take over and give totally wrong information which the rest of us were left to correct and say thats not actually how that goes... plus she made us look even worse by not deciding to dress "professionally", she came dressed in an old raggedy t-shirt and sweats. Come on lady you are in your fifties, have some common sense and be respectful...you shouldn't need a babysitter. I was the youngest one in the group and that is exactly what I felt like. GRRRRR!!!!!
Anyways, that sent my mood soaring for pretty much the rest of this week while I'm at school. So that is why I can't wait for the end of school tomorrow.
Can't wait to see Jesse on Saturday and everyone else throughout the rest of next week!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I Tried

A few weeks ago Jesse had a Monday off... I think it was Columbus Day ( this really doesn't matter), so we walked down town in Silver City and went to the Co-Op a little health food store, he hadn't been there and we had been talking about going for a while. When we were there and looking around he saw some cookies from Kashi that he wanted and there were a few different kinds but only one of them didn't have stuff he was allergic to in them. He didn't get them there because they were kinda expensive and figured we could check at Walmart. So later on when we went to Walmart we checked and they a place for them but they were out; for the past few weeks every time I've gone to the store I have checked for those stupid cookies and they were always out. Finally last night when I went to Walmart I figured I would check and just maybe they would have the cookies and much to my surprise they did. So I got all excited and bought them and just waited in suspense to take them to Jesse... then I finally got back to his apartment and proudly announced that I had something for him and gave him the cookies. He then began to read the ingredients and a minute or two later he tells me he can't eat them because they have walnuts in them and he might be allergic....ALL my excitement was gone. Now the cookies are all mine which kinda means so much for trying to eat health, although they are Kashi and somewhat healthy. Oh well I guess thats how it goes and I shouldn't try so hard to be a good girlfeind. Oh yes and just to explain the picture above I discovered a tricky function on my camera and this is the result. I takes 16 pictures one after the other and I was trying it out on Jesse, who was not nearly as humored by it as I was.

Halloween

For Halloween I dressed up as a go-go dancer. I know I look quite hideous in that dress, but I threw it together at the last minute. This motorcycle was parked downtown so I couldn't help but to pose next to it... don't I look super sexy! I didn't stay out very long but I did get a couple good pictures.

Group shots

Who couldn't LOVE these pink tights...too bad Ididn't have some lime green boots to go with it.

My New Computer :)

Just wanting to say how much I love my new computer. I also have an awesome dad who bought it for me after mine went up in smoke (literally). I am alarmingly intrigued by the fact that it has a webcam that I have been loving playing with...I'm like a little kid with a new toy.

I know it's a silly picture but it's better than anything I could take at the moment beings that I'm laying in bed looking quite atrocious. Just don't tell Jesse I posted this pic because I was acting silly playing with the webcam and I know he wouldn't approve; but I think he looks cute with his cheesy smile :) Anyway Just wanted to say how much I love this computer and the fact that the battery lasts for atleast two and a half hours!

For Alicia

I know I might be crazy in posting this because it really doesn't make that much sense...but I'm gonna do it anyway. Plus I'm guessing the only person that will read it is Alicia. As I was putting stuff away from the weekend, I realized there were flies all over my ceiling. This is for Alicia because I remember one night she had flies all over her ceiling, so I got her phone book and started killing them (with excitement). So I looked around and saw a small magazine that had come in the mail and started swating at them, feeling more content with every one I killed. Finally I looked around and didn't see anymore so I put the magazine down and started to my bed; as I looked around there were a bunch more in my room. So...I grabed my checkbook that was sitting on my nightstand and began swatting again, however this time I wasn't as lucky. Of like six flies in my tiny bedroom I think I got one, after which I gave up and turned off the light. I know this is a silly story without much meaning but it made me think of that night with Easha and how entertaing it was everytime I killed a fly. Well I'm off to bed...and these pesky flies are still buggin' me!

Bye Bye Computer

So last week was going fairly well, not a lot of homework due and I got to be lazy. I was enjoying the slow week after the craziness of the previous week...that is until Wednesday night. So I was just browsing the internet kinda messing around and all of the sudden I hear a soft noise, I look down and there is smoke coming out of the keyboard on my laptop, but the computer didn't shut off. This freaked me out a bit so I turned it off as quick as possilble, unplugged it and pulled out the battery then like with everything else called my dad to let him know. I think I have this undoubting feeling that even though my dad is hundreds of miles away he can fix any of my problems instantly as long as I call him right away. So it's like almost 11 o'clock which is ten in Cali and I call him freaking out and tell him what happened and he stays calm and asks if I have unplugged it and turned it off and taken out the battery then tells me "well there's nothing you can do about it tonight; we'll make sure we get you another one". So then I call Jesse who can't do anything either to tell him and I'm pretty sure waking him up so that he can calm me down and make me feel better and he did. The only problem that was really left for the night was that my house smelled like burning wires which just caused me to be continually annoyed with the fact that my computer had just died.
As I got to class on Thursday morning I ask a guy(Matt) I know if he knows much about computers and he says kinda but that he has a friend that works on them and asks why. I explain to him what happened the night before and tell him that I have another computer that is the same model but also has minor problems. Luckily he says his buddy will fix it cheap. So I met my sis for dinner on Friday and she brought me her computer. So I see Matt again today in class and ask him about his friend fixing the computer and he says he's going to see him after class. So after class he is nice and drives me to my car (I park a ways away from the building because I didn't buy a parking pass) waits as I get the computers out and then drives me back to the building for my next class.
I just got done taking a test and began to walk down the three flights of stairs in the building and realized I had no computer at home so as I was hitting the bottom of the stairs I stood in the stair well and pondered about whether or not I wanted to climb back up the stairs for the 4th time today. After standing there for about two minutes I decided that I might as well come back up and do some homework on the computer at school so that I can get done with it. So here I am just as the clouds are beginning to clear and the sun is coming out at four in the afternoon (its been rainy and dreary all day). So now I'm just hoping that Matt will call or txt me tonight and let me know about the stupid computer! Anyway this is my drearyness and ranting because I don't know what to do at home without a computer and I don't particullarly like sitting in the computer lab at school.

I'm a 23 year old with braces...

So after six months of braces my bottom teeth finally have enough space between them to take the dreaded coil (spring) out that went across the front of my bottom teeth... I'm elated. The dang spring has embedded itself into my lower lip, there is now a scar from it you can see all the little coil marks that it made. The good thing is that today I went to the orthodontist, where I am always the about the oldest person in the waiting room excluding parents, and they took the stupid thing out. I can barely even tell there is anything sticking out on my teeth now except that they put a thicker wire on so they are a little bit tight which I can deal with. I realize that it is silly that I post a blog about this but if you were 23 with braces you might be just as happy as I am.
I really shouldn't complain about the braces as my teeth were not terribly bad before I had them put on but it does make me remember what I was also going to post about them. I am always entertained by the fact that countless people notice that I have braces...then ask me about them...then without fail flash their incredibly crooked and out of place teeth and say "I'm so glad I never needed braces"! I will admit that not everyone that says this has bad teeth but I am amazed at how many people have teeth about ten times as bad as mine were before I got the braces say it. Maybe it makes them feel a little better about themselves I don't know but it always kinda makes me laugh inside because I can't really say anything to that. This may not be at all funny to anyone else but to me they would be better off not saying anything just notice my ugly braces and go on about your day.
Ok I am done with my silliness and just want to say that I am actually happy to have these dreaded things that most people get at the latest in high school because when they come off I know my teeth will be beautiful and I have already seen quite a major improvement.

OnE cRaZy WeEk!

So instead of doing my homework all weekend I decided to help my friend Amber from Silver City celebrate her 21st birthday...

...and go to the fair in Cliff (it's like 30 miles from Silver) ...

...and lay around with Jesse and watch movies and talk.

This means that I put off writing two 6 page papers, studying for a test, preparing two presentations, and also a 2 page paper. When I got home at the beginning of the week I thought there was no way I was going to finish all of this homework which was due at various times Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Amazingly I did it but I do not know how. I should probably also thank Jesse for listening to me complain about it like everyday when I would get frustrated and need to vent a little. Oh yes, when I got home from my little weekend venture on Monday and went to turn on my water...nothing came out. Let me tell you how happy I was that I had showered before I left because I didn't have time to deal with it. What had happened was while I was gone my trailer that I live in which is a 5th wheel got a leak underneath so my neighbors were nice enough to turn the water off to avoid a pretty good flood in the area. So after I got done with school on Tuesday at like 6 o'clock (a day of a test and two in class presentations) I went and got the stuff to fix my nice leak. I have been dying for today to come because it meant that all of this gruesome homework and crap I've been dealing with would be over and I could start being excited that I have friends coming to see me and go to the Southern New Mexico State Fair... Josh Gracin is going to be there and I'm super excited! So now I get to be relieved and excited and enjoy the weekend at the fair and all my friends that are coming to go with me :)

Starting the Blogging

Well, I'm not exactly a writer but I am trying this whole blogging thing...mostly because I was enjoying reading Alica's posts oh so much and she went and set her account to private and in order to continue reading her posts I had to set up an account. I realize that doesn't require me to actually blog but I am going to try it out, no guarantees on being entertaining though. If nothing else I will probably post some interesting pictures that tend to make me look like an idiot but who cares, if you know me you will understand and if you don't then I really don't care :) The picture above I figure is pretty entertaining and I might as well explain the outfit. A friend wanted to have an 80's themed birthday party so I did my best to look the part...only the sad part is that there were like only three or four of us that dressed up. Oh well we had fun getting dressed up. I only wish that the picture wasn't blurry and you could see the full extent of the whole getup, trust me if you aren't laughing at what I look like from a distance you should see my eye make-up...and I even have the braces going. he he
